Ellner, a gay Democratic candidate for Manhattan borough president, who invited Mr. Sharpton to attend. Mr. Sharpton, Mr. Ellner, and C. Campaign literature at events promote "Our Community, Our Candidate" and ask, unambiguously, 'Proud? So is Brian.' He promises to use the office to protect 'marriage equality' as a civil right."
